GANGTOK: Mrs. Gyari Dolma, Kalon of Home Department, Central Tibetan Administration, during her official visit to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim from 26-30 October, met with several dignitaries of the State Government and discussed major issues pertaining to Tibetan refugees in Sikkim.

On 27 October, Kalon met with Mr. Tsegyal Tashi, IAS, Secretary and Mr. Tashi Wangdi, SCS, Additional Secretary, Department of Land Revenue & Disaster Management, Government of Sikkim. The issues raised during the meeting were of land demarcation and issuance of lease agreement to Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement, Ravangla, Sikkim.

She also had meeting with Mr. S C Gupta, IAS Additional Chief Secretary and Ms. Tashi Cho Cho, SCS, Additional Secretary, Home Department, GOS and discussed about “The Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014”.

On 30 October, Kalon met Ms. Rinchen Ongmu, IAS, Chief Secretary of the State. Home Kalon raised issues facing Tibetans in Sikkim, such as, Ravangla Settlement lease agreement and land demarcation, extending benefits of central and State Government, issuance of trade and driving licenses and provision of Public Distribution System (PDS) benefits to Tibetans holding Registration Certificate (RC).
