DHARAMSHALA: The Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Education today, commenced  a comprehensive primary teacher’s training at Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies near Dharamshala.

The training will put special emphasis on basic mathematics, music, child psychology, Tibetan language as well as Tibetan Buddhism and the importance of ethical behavior.

The training was inaugurated by the secretary of the Department of Education, Yuthok Karma Gelek with education administrator Tsering Samdup and Mr Passang from the host college.

Speaking to the participants, Ven. Yuthok Karma Gelek stated that the Education Department have hired several experts in the primary education field to train the participants. He also added that the training will be conducted, keeping in view the current policies and techniques of imparting primary education.

He also stressed on the importance of primary education to create a better community and to safeguard the the Tibetan language .

He urged the participating teachers to fully engage the resource persons with discussions and comprehensive deliberation.

More than 32 Tibetan teachers from 13 different schools from various parts of India  and 6  teachers from a Himalayan school are participating in the 15-day primary teacher’s training.
