Za Patrul Rinpoche Prays for Earthquake Victims in Japan[Saturday, 7 May 2011, 2:48 p.m.]

Ven. Za Patrul Rinpoche, a high Tibetan Nyingmapa Lama of Tibetan
Buddhism, who was in Japan on his teaching tour, presided over a mass
prayer gathering at Joenji Temple in Tokyo. The prayer
congregation was organised by Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai
Lama for Japan & East Asia for the early recovery from the tragedy
that devastated North-Eastern part of Japan during the 11 March
earthquake and tsunami.Mr. Lhakpa Tshoko, the Representative of
the Office gave brief introduction of the prayer sessions and said that
Tibetan people stand with the Japanese in solidarity during this grave
and tragic hour. Recitation of Sherab Nyingpo, [Hangya shingyo] in
Tibetan and Japanese was done by some hundred people who participated
in the prayer.Ven. Za Patrul Rinpoche, who presided over the
prayers, gave a brief sermon on the importance of recitation of prayers
and the positive energy that comes from the sincere and compassionate
heart. He told the participants to spare sometime from their busy schedule to pray for all the sentient beings whenever possible.
