Kalon for Religion and Culture to attend Buddha Festival in Nagpur[Tuesday, 4 January 2011, 11:45 a.m.]

Kalon for the Department of Religion and Culture, Venerable Tsering
Phuntsok, will attend the forthcoming ‘Buddha Festival’ in the Indian
city of Nagpur scheduled from 6 – 9 January.A wide-range of
events associated with the life of Buddha and his teachings of truth
and non-violence have been lined up during the festival.Some of
the main features of the event include cultural performances by local,
national and international artists; painting competition on the life of
Buddha; sculpture competition on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s “Mudras of
Boddhisatva” and paper presentation on “Role of women in promotion of
Buddhist festivals and culture”, “Buddhism and Non-violence” and
“Buddhism and today’s youth”.
There will be expo on books, artifacts and cuisines.
