Bengaluru: Tibetan Parliamentarians Ven Geshe Atong Rinchen Gyaltsen and Wangdue Dorjee arrived at Bengaluru and were received warmly by the Accountant of Chief Representative Office, Tenzin Sonam.
As per program, they had a courtesy meeting with Hon’ble MLA of BTM Layout, Bengaluru – Sh. Ramalinga Reddy at his Office and meet his daughter MLA of Jayanagar constituency, Smt. Sowmya Reddy. Tibetan Parliamentarians greeted them by offering traditional scarves and, in exchange, offer flower bouquets.
Tibetan Parliamentarians expressed their deep gratitude to the Government of Karnataka and its People for their consistent support of the Tibetans living in Karnataka. They briefed on the structure and formation of Tibetan Parliament in Exile and the need to raise the Tibetan movement on the National and International platforms. They urged them to stand on treating Tibet as an “ Occupied Country” and not as a part of China. That’s how the first day of the visit concludes.
