Health Kalon to visit Tibetan Settlements in South India

Dharamshala: Kalon Chope Paljor Tsering, kalon for the Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration, will undertake inspection visits to the five major Tibetan settlements-based in south India.

The health kalon will leave Dharamshala on 24 July, noted an announcement issued by the department.

Beginning 26 July, he will visit Tibetan settlements based in Karnataka state, including Dhoeguling settlement in Mundgod, Dickey Larsoe and Lugsum-Samdupling in Bylakuppee, Rabgyeling in Hunsur and Dhondenling in Kollegal.

He is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the chief representative officer in Bangalore.

During the visit, he will meet settlement officers, health committee members and camp leaders to deliberate on improving health care in Tibetan settlements based on health care policies of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Besides, he will also discuss health related issues and projects. He will speak to the general public on keeping healthy live styles and clean environment.

He will inspect hospitals and meet with health workers.

Project officer Tenzin Ignyen will accompany the health kalon.
