Mongolians pray for long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Dharamshala: Scores of Mongolian Buddhists offered long life prayer for His Holiness the Dalai Lama this morning on the margins of a five-day teaching by His Holiness.

The five-day teaching was conferred at the request of Gandan Thegchenling Monastery of Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

In his brief address, His Holiness lauded the service of Mongolian Buddhists in the renaissance of Buddhism and expressed his support for their efforts in strengthening and preserving the Buddhist tradition.

While conveying his greetings for the New Year to the people of Mongolia, His Holiness appealed everyone to put their best effort in doing meritorious deeds throughout the year in order to make one's life meaningful.

Also present at the ceremony were officials of the Central Tibetan Administration including, Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche, Speaker Karma Chophel, Chief Justice Commissioner Namgyal Tsering Dralnang, members of the Kashag and others.

Earlier this month, Buddhists from Mongolia and Republics of Kalmykia, Tuva and Buryatia of the Russian Federation offered a grand long life prayer to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala.
