Integrated Health Data Surveillance Training Underway

Dharamshala: Understanding the importance of comparing figures while working for the eradication, controlling and improvement of health and health care system, a five-day training on "Integrated Health Data Surveillance" organised by the Department of Health, began yesterday at the Gangkyi staff cafeteria.

The five-day training is being attended by 15 participants including Tibetan health workers from primary health centres at Dalhousie, Rewalsar, Solan, Kamrao, Bir, Chauntara, Tashijong, Manali and Kullu and nurses from Central Schoool for Tibetans Dalhousie and 3 Tibetan Children's Village schools.

Mr Migmar Tashi from the Department of Health, will speak on health data, including infant mortality rate, mortality data, death and birth rate. Ms Tsering Paldon, Delek hospital's public health coordinator will brief on tuberculosis.

In training the health workers in strengthening an available health data on tuberculosis, the department aims to work towards a successful implementation and prioritising of programs, projects and plans to fight against health problems of the community.

The five-day health data training will conclude on 17 November.
