A Long Look Homeward: Showcasing Tibetan History and Culture

The president of Arya Samaj Rampura, Kota, Mrs Pushpaji Mulliyan inaugurated the exhibition.

Also present at the inaugural ceremony included, members of India Tibet Friendship Society, Kota including Mr Shiv Narayan Uppadya, Mr Mathur, Mr Dinesh Sharma and many prominent members of Arya Samaj Rampura.

During the exhibition, the Tibet Museum of the Department of Information and International Relations, showcased Tibet's rich history and vision for its future through photographs, texts and videos.

"The exhibition aimed to create awareness about Tibetan history and culture, and to garner support from Indian public for the Tibetan cause," Mr Tsering Ngodup, head of the Tibet Museum told TibetNet.

He further said, "As Kota is known for its educational institutions, most of the visitors are student and many of them are enthusiastic to learn more about Tibetan history."

"Many of them, who were not aware of the realities in Tibet, expressed their support and solidarity with the Tibetan cause,'' he added.

The Tibet Museum was established in 1998 to serve as a remembrance of the loss of Tibetan culture and lives. It strengthens the Tibetan spirit and collective pride through its presentations and publications on Tibet's rich history and culture, the struggle for Tibet and hopes for its future.
