Kalon Tsering Phuntsok to visit northeastern Tibetan settlements

Dharamshala: The Kalon for the Department of Religion and Culture, Ven Tsering Phuntsok, left Dharamshala on 20 October for a two-week visit to Tibetan settlements situated in northeastern India, as a part of the thirteenth Kashag's visit program.

Kalon Tsering Phuntsok is scheduled to arrive in Bagdora today, where the welfare officer of Gangtok Tibetan community will receive him.

From 23 to 26 October, he will visit Tibetan monasteries and schools in Gangtok.He will also give public talks to the Tibetan people.

Following his visit in Gangtok, he will leave for Kunpheling Tibetan Settlement, Ravangla in Sikkim on 27 October.

During a 2-day stay in Ravangla, he will visit monasteries and schools. He will also deliver public talks to the Tibetan people.

On 29 October, he will proceed to the Tibetan settlement in Kalimpong, West Bengal, where he will be received by the Tibetan welfare officer.

He will visit monasteries and schools in Kalimpong and give series of public talks to Tibetans on 29 and 30 October.

On 31 October, he will visit the Tibetan community in Darjeeling, where the welfare officer will receive him.

During his 2-day visit to Darjeeling, he will visit monasteries and schools. Later, he will also visit monasteries and schools in Sonada.

From 1 to 2 November, he is scheduled to visit Manjushri Centre of Tibetan Culture based in Darjeeling and inaugurate an extension of the monastic building.

On 3 November, he will proceed to Salugar and is scheduled to visit Tibetan monasteries and address a monastic gathering.

He will return to Dharamshala on 5 November.
