Auditor General

The need for a separate audit office with the objective of supervising and scrutinizing the accounts and records of all government, semi government and various undertakings of the Central Tibetan Administration was strongly felt. Thus in 1962, a separate Office of the Auditor General (OAG) was established under the supervision of Kashag. - Audit Manual, 2004

Whenever, either the Public Service Commission or any particular Department conducts any training to accountants, the office facilitate accountancy instructor. As mentioned above, being the Supreme Audit Institution of CTA, it has the responsibility to audit each and every institution that comes under the CTA’s umbrella. But due to short of audit staff, we could audit only two third of the audit units. Thus in a nutshell, it could be said that this office functions as Watchdog of CTA’s public money.
