BANGALORE: The Department of Education in collaboration with Pestalozzi International Village Trust (PIVT) is conducting selection tests for Tibetan students to study International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma course at Sussex Coast College in Hastings, UK.
27 shortlisted Class X graduate students are sitting for tests of English Reading & Listening skills, Science, Mathematics, English writing and individual interviews at the Chief Representative’s Office in Bangalore from 20 – 23 July. There are 14 students from TCV schools, 10 from CTSA schools, 1 each from THF, STSA and private schools respectively across India.
Margaret Alexander, the Student Programme Manager and Victoria Wilson, Student’s Teacher PIVT, are in Bangalore to preside over the selection tests. Kalsang Rinchen, Deputy Secretary and Mr Tenzin Jigme, Office Secretary of Department of Education, CTA, are also here to co-ordinate the selection programme.
Pestalozzi has been offering scholarships for Tibetan refugee students since 1963. The department of education has been closely associated with the Pestalozzi for a very long time.
