TOKYO: The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Japan on Saturday organised second Nya Sog-lu (Tibetan: saving life of fish) ceremony for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Tibetans, Mongolians, Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese took part in the ceremony.

During the ceremony, fish were released from captivity, following which Geshe Sonam Gyaltsen of Potala College led a prayer service for the long and healthy life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Prayers were also offered to mourn the loss of lives and speedy recovery of those injured during the recent devastating torrential rain and flooding in western Japan.

Speaking at the ceremony, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Representative Mr. Lungtok thanked all those who participated in the prayer ceremony. He also thanked many Chinese and others for donating to the Sog-lu ceremony.
