DOBHI, PALRABLING: Organised by the Tibetan Settlement Office, Tibetans in Kullu District celebrated 83rd Birthday of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama on 6 July.
The chief guest at the celebration was Mrs Shalini Agnihotri-IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kullu and His Eminence Khondung Asanga Vajra Sakya Rinpoche as the Special Guest.
Other guests include various Monastic Administrators and members of Tibet Support Group, Government and Non-Government organizations, Local Indian and Dobhi Pradhan, School Children and teachers, and the settlers from all five different Tibetan communities in Kullu District including Manali, 15 Mile, Patlikuhl, Dobhi and Kullu under the jurisdiction of Welfare Office, Kullu-Manali.
On the occasion, the Committee members of His Holiness the Dalai Lamas’s birthday celebration presented Appreciation letter to Mr Tenzin Tobden from Manali, (2018 awardee of Gaden Phodrang with 94.02 %) and topper of Class XII CBSE, Commerce stream 2018. 2016-17 Tibetan Group leaders were also felicitated with Gratitude Certificate issued by Department of Home, CTA. The certificates were presented by the chief guest.
Former members of Tibetan Freedom Movement and Regional Women Association were also presented with Gratitude Certificate and scarf from the Special guest.
The occasion concluded with numbers of Cultural programme performed by students of Sambhota Tibetan School, Manali and Tibetans.
As per yearlong Calendar event of Thank You India 2018 initiated by Central Tibetan Administration, the Settlement office is organizing “Bhan-dara” in collaboration with Kias Dagpo Monastery at Civil Hospital, Kullu on 11 July. The event is being organised for over a thousand in-patients, staff and public.
