Dharamshala: The President of the Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay embarked on a five-day official visit to Germany today. He will be meeting with dignitaries in New Delhi prior to his official visit on May 11.
Dr Sangay will attend and address the Thank You Germany Program at Tibet House. Thank You Germany is a part of a year-long campaign initiated by the Central Tibetan Administration to mark this year as the Thank You Year.
During his visit, Dr Sangay will attend and address the General Assembly of Tibet Initiative Deutschland (TID), a charitable organisation advocating for the protection of human rights in Tibet and the Tibetan people’s right to self-determination since 1989.
In Berlin, the official visit will see meetings with dignitaries and other important personalities. Dr Sangay will also be interacting with German media.
The President’s last visit to Berlin was six years ago in 2012 and he last visited the country in 2016, where he attended the round table conference organised by the Schwarz-Schilling Foundation.
Dr Sangay is scheduled to return on May 16.
