PAONTA: The Tibet Museum of DIIR, Central Tibetan Administration showcased its photo exhibition covering three themes namely “India and Tibet – Ancient Ties, Current Bonds”, “Brief Biography of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama” and “From Home to Exile – Remembering March 17, 1959” at Thank You India 2018 Programme organized by Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement in Paonta Sahib on 10 April, 2018.

The photo exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest Shri Sukh Ram Chaudhary, MLA Paonta Sahib Constituency accompanied by Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk, Minister of Health, CTA, Mr. Gelek Jamyang, Paonta Cholsum Tibetan Settlement Officer and other distinguished guests. Shri Chaudhary and the guests were led through the photo exhibition by Mr. Rinchen Dorjee, Incharge of the exhibition. Shri Chaudhary in the comment book wrote “For the past 60 years, Tibetans have been part of Indian culture. This has profoundly beautified and enriched the Indian culture. For this, I pay my heartiest congratulations and thank you to all.”

The photo exhibition, thereafter, was visited by the general public of Paonta Sahib. They were amazed to see India and Tibet’s relations from early times, the life history of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness’ great escape from Tibet coming to Exile in India. The visitors carefully went through the exhibits of the exhibition and expressed their opinions in the comment book at the end.

In all, the photo exhibition was welcomed well by the people and it had helped in informing people unknown of Tibet about Tibet, it’s people and it’s relations with India.
