DHARAMSHALA: CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay today expressed his condolences at the tragic accident of a school bus in Himachal Pradesh that killed 27 people out of which 23 were school children.
The accident occurred on 9 April in Malkwal near Nurpur in the state’s Kangra district where the Central Tibetan Administration as well as His Holiness the Dalai Lama is based.
“It is with profound sadness that I express my deepest condolences to the people of Himachal Pradesh over the tragic accident that killed 27 people including 23 children,” Dr Sangay said.
“The Tibetan people have been in Himachal Pradesh for the last almost six decades, during which the two peoples have shared the joys and grief together. Hence, the recent tragedy that befell our brothers and sisters in Himachal is a severe blow to the Tibetan people as well.”
“Therefore, I on behalf of the entire Tibetan people, would like to offer my condolences to those families who have lost loved ones and to others affected by this unfortunate accident,” he said.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the affected families at this time of grief and mourning,” he added.
