Los Angeles: Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today concluded his two-day public engagements in Los Angeles.

Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel who arrived in LA on 5 December, was received by President of Tibetan Association and former Tibetan parliamentarian, Tenzin Choden as well as members of the local Tibetan community.

In his address to the Tibetan community on 6 December, Speaker talked about the critical situation inside Tibet, on our obligation and endeavors towards upholding Tibetan language and culture without relying on others for its sustainability.

He paid tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s lifelong contribution to the Tibetan cause and people, while urging the diaspora community to embrace Tibetan unity and democratic principles for the Tibetan cause and its struggle.

He encouraged the members to uphold the Tibetan spirit and continue to make concerted efforts towards preservation of the unique Tibetan language, culture and way of life.

Speaker will depart for New York today.
