Dharamshala: Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok attended the Environment Sanitation Program, as its chief guest on Saturday, 14 October.

The sanitation program was organized by Dainik Jagran, a prominent Hindi media in Dharamshala.

Inaugurating the event, Deputy speaker led a ceremonial oath in Hindi, to keep and maintain the environment clean and hygiene along other participants of the event. He was later joined by Mayor Rajni Vyas in the inaugural ceremony.

Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok also chaired a discussion on the importance of environmental cleanliness and the necessary facilitation from the local authorities and cited principle advices and guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

He expressed his gratitude to the media personnel of Dainik Jagran for the invitation, and in particular, for publishing numerous achievements and activities of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as on the issues related to Tibet. He further implored them to continue with the publication of issues related to Tibetan’s struggle in the future.

Along with Mayor Rajni Vyas, Dharamshala Tibetan settlement officer Dawa Rinchen, members of Environmental Desk under the Settlement office as well as the local residents attended the event.
