New Delhi – On 4th October morning, Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok called on Shri Satish Dhar, PA to the Convener of All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet and Shri Shanta Kumar, Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh at his office to follow-up on the last meeting of APIPFT held at Constitutional Club, New Delhi on 7th August 2017.

Deputy Speaker also made a courtesy visit on behalf of Tibetan Parliament to Smt Sulekha Tai Kumbhare to congratulate for her appointment as a member of National Minority Commission.

He also thanked her and requested for continued support for the Tibetan cause and assistance for the welfare of Tibetan people and specifically Tibetan Sweater seller union across the country.

Later in the evening, Deputy Speaker participated in the religious ceremony and meeting of Mahabodhi Society of India at the temple on Mandir marg near Gol Dakhana. The religious ceremony was held in celebration of the end of ‘Rains-retreat’ (Vassa).

Over 70 dignitaries and people from various places including the Sri Lankan ambassador to India attended the gathering. Tibetan representatives from Majnukatilla, Buddhvihar, Settlement Officer Lekhi Dorjee and staff and staff of ITCO were also present.

Deputy Speaker was among the speaker panel including the General Secretary, Joint Secretary of Mahabodhi Society of India.

He also met with a former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh during the Delhi visit.
