Delhi: The Tibet Policy Institute and Delhi based United Service Institute jointly hosted a workshop on ‘Tibet: Environment, Water Management, Division of the Plateau and China’s Ownership of Tibetan Buddhism’ on 15 September 2017 at the United Service Institute.

Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director of the United Service Institute delivered the Opening Remarks where he welcomed the five members delegation of Tibetan Policy Institute for presenting their papers on Tibet. He compliments the start of formal engagements with the Tibet Policy Institute and expressed more such discussions on Tibet.

Tenzin Lekshay, Deputy Director of the Tibet Policy Institute briefly introduced the institute and appreciated the United Service Institute for associating with the former in such academic sessions.

Dr. Tenzin Desal and Tenzin Tseten spoke on subject related to reincarnation and Tempa Gyaltsen and Dechen Palmo of Environment and Development Desk spoke on Climate change and strategic importance of Brahmaputra.

Many distinguished guests including former and serving members of the Indian armed forces attended the conference.

On 16 September, The Tibet Policy Institute organized an educative program with the presentations by researchers of Tibet Policy Institute and the JNU Tibetan students at Tibetan Youth Hostel, Delhi. The program was for the Tibetan students who are currently residing in the hostel. The session was started with a special lecture by one Indian expert on India and China. More than 50 Tibetan students attended the program.
