Dharamshala: A twelve-member delegation of Core Group for Tibetan Cause led by Shri Rinchen Khandro Khermey, former member of Parliament National Convener of Core Group visited the Tibetan parliament to witness the ongoing proceedings of the fourth session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.

Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel acknowledged the presence of the delegation during the proceedings.

Deputy Speaker, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok welcomed and thanked them for the various campaigns on Tibet’s issue undertaken by them at their local level.

During their brief meeting, Deputy Speaker spoke on the various campaigns undertaken by the Tibetan Parliament at local and international level referring to the recent Parliamentary delegation to Russia and Japan.

He appealed the members to consolidate the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association further by associating with various local residents. The members also offered their valuable suggestions and directions.

Also part of the delegation was Shri Surendra Kumar, National Co-convener of Eastern Region of Core Group and General Secretary of Voluntary Agencies for Rural Development (AVARD).

This marks the first visit of the Core Group delegation to Tibetan parliament.
