Ribbon cutting cum inauguration of the exhibition by Mr. Dorjee Rinzin, Settlement Officer of  Rabgayling Settlemen, Hunsur.

Hunsur: On its second venue of the traveling exhibition tour of Southern Tibetan Settlements in Karnataka, the Tibet Museum showcased a two-themed  Photo Exhibition at Hunsur Rabgayling Tibetan settlement.

The exhibition, held at Hunsur Rabgayling Settlement Community hall, was inaugurated by Mr. Dorjee Rinzin, the representative of the Hunsur Rabgayling Settlement on 10 July, 2017. After the inaugural ceremony, the visitors consisting mainly the residents of the settlement were led through the exhibition by the Staff of Tibet Museum.

‘What Remains of us’, a documentary film on Tibet was screened after the visitors had gone through the photo exhibits. Monks from Dzongkar Choede Monastery also visited the exhibition site and enthusiastically viewed the exhibition.

In the afternoon, senior students from C. S. T. Gurupura, led by their teachers visited the exhibition site and the documentary film ‘Compassion in exile’ was screened for the students and the teachers.

A group of students and teachers from Taiwan on a visit to Rabgayling Settlement and Monasteries here came to see the exhibition and listened diligently to the explanation about the exhibition.

The Tibet Museum also showcased the exhibition themes based on, ‘Biography of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’ and ‘Why are Tibetans turning to Self-Immolation in Tibet? ‘.

The Tibet Museum will conclude its current traveling exhibition tour of three southern Tibetan settlements with the final exhibition at Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement on 13 July 2017.
