Agra, July 8, 2017: The meeting of National Executive members of Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch, a national Tibet Support Group organization was held at Hotel Orient Taj, Agra, Uttar Pradesh from July 8-9, 2017 to discuss upon the activities to be carried out by respective TSGs chapter in their regions for the upcoming years in respect of “Tibbat Ki Azadi and Kailash Mansarovar ki Mukhti”.
More than 400 participants from all over India took part in the meeting to express their solidarity and support for the just cause of Tibet. The arrangement and responsibility of the meeting was led by BTSM Agra chapter.
The Guest Speakers for the inauguration session includes Shri Indresh Kumar, Patron, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch; Prof. Ram Shankar, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; Shri Chaudhary Babulal, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; Shri Rinchin Khandu Khrimey, National Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause; Shri Inderjit Arya, Mayor Agra Mahanagar; Shri Bhawani Singh, Braj District President, Bharatiya Janata Party; Shri Puram Dabar, Industrialist and Senior member of BTSM; Shri Harjit Singh Grewal, Regional Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause and Shri Pankaj Goyal, National Gen. Secretary, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch.
Shri Indresh Kumar in his speech stated that Tibet and Himalayas is the water tower of Asia. Most of the India’s rivers have its water source in Tibet, which is still under the Chinese colonization. “The holy place Kailash Mansarovar, the abode of Lord Shiva prior to 1962 India-China War is a free pilgrimage site for the devotees on either border. The occupation of Tibet was a result of 1954 Panchsheel agreement signed at that time between the People Republic of China and Government of India.
“Currently China poses more threat to India than Pakistan. Therefore the current government stand in respect of Tibet spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama recent visit to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh have made it clear that India is no more fear of China.”
He even said that for the security and safety of India’s own territory, the establishment of Tibet Support Group organization like Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch was founded. “Hence it should be the serious concern of Indian people to support the Tibetan movement socially, morally and politically. We must also support spiritually in prayers for Tibbat Ki Azadi and Kailash Mansarovar ki Mukhti.”
Shri R.K. Khrimey said that India’s border of Arunachal Pradesh is secure and safe with the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Indian Army. “We had come to this meeting to put collective effort and hardship in restoring freedom for Tibet from China. Tibet shares a historical boundary with India and not with China. The boundary with China became by default hence it was an unwanted neighbor.
“The day will surely come when Tibetans will return back to their homeland Tibet if we continue to raise the Tibet issue at all sections of people in our country. We must assure that His Holiness the Dalai Lama be return honorably to his country Tibet in this lifetime. He even stated that Tibet issue is in India’s own national interest because it is a question of the security of our country.
The other speakers spoke on various issues such as Importance of Tibetan movement in India; India-Tibet relationship, Present human rights violation in Tibet; Significance of Tibetan Environment; creating Tibet awareness among the younger generations; expressing solidarity and support to the Tibetan cause and sharing the activities carried out by Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch in India.
Finally the day concluded with introductory session and group discussions dispersed in five groups. India Tibet Coordination Office distributed Tibet related books and recently publish book on Middle Way Policy to the participants.
Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch, a national Tibet Support Groups was established on 9th May 1999 under the guidance of Shri Indresh Kumar at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
