Bodh Gaya: President of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay on Wednesday arrived in Bodh Gaya to pay obeisance at the holy Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya.

The President, who is on the three-day visit, offered special prayers at the Mahabodhi Mahavihara—revered as the holiest place of Buddhist pilgrimage in the world. He was accompanied by Secretary Tenzin Lungtok, Department of Religion and Culture, CTA and local officials.

Upon arrival at the temple, Dr Sangay was received by head monk of the Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee who presented him with a holy text and a temple miniature.

President Dr Sangay is scheduled to visit Varanasi from 13 – 14 July, where he will address the students of Central University of Tibetan Studies.
