Dharamshala: Women’s Empowerment Desk under SARD, Department of Finance organised a Gender Sensitization workshop for CTA’s project officers. The Gender Sensitization workshop held on May 11 &12 and May 15 &16 at Nyatri Hall in Gangkyi. It was attended by project officers and related officers of projects from different Departments and offices of CTA.
The workshop for CTA’s project officers aims to create awareness about understandings of Gender and its aspects so as to help them incorporate gender perspective in the design, implementations and monitoring of all programs ensuring development of Tibetan community and gender equality.
The objective of Gender sensitization workshop is to build the ground for these project officers to be able to mainstream Gender into the projects while also changing their behavior toward their own and other gender–putting on gender lens in their work.
The workshop saw Gender Consultants: Ms Aasha Ramesh and Ms Sunila Singh as resource persons.
Key topics of the workshop includes Socialization process, gender stereotyping, gender and work, Gender and power relation, GBSV, Women’s health rights etc.
The gender workshop funded by USAID strives to sensitize the project officers who plays major role in developing projects which should be beneficial to all the members of the communities.
