President of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Sangay in Washington DC.

Washington DC, May 25: The President of Central Tibetan Administration Dr. Lobsang Sangay in his first official visit to DC under the new US Administration, met with eight members of congress from both the parties.

On the final day, President Dr. Sangay met with Republican Senator Cotton, the youngest senator from Arkansas and one of the closest allies of President Trump in the present Senate.  Senator Cotton assured Dr. Sangay of his support for the Tibetan cause.

During his visit he met with American Enterprise leaders and a number of US government officials. He spoke at the Heritage Foundation, known to be a leading think tank in Washington DC.

The International Campaign for Tibet and the Capital Area Tibetan Association hosted receptions in his honor. During his interactions with the elected US representative and officials, he updated them on the current critical situation inside Tibet, the status of dialogue and made specific requests on what the Hill and the Administration can do to resolve the long-standing issue of Tibet.

Both the US leaders and public expressed highest level of support for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and  the cause of Tibet.
