BODH GAYA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave a special address to a group of pilgrims who had traveled all the way from Tibet to receive blessings of the Tibetan spiritual leader at Bodh Gaya on 29 December 2016. Many of them will soon be leaving back to their home country without being able to attend the Kalachakra initiation by His Holiness as they are summoned to Tibet by the Chinese government.

In his address, His Holiness the Dalai Lama assured the pilgrims that he will pray for all the Tibetans inside Tibet as he gives the Kalachakra Empowerment from 11 – 13 January. He told that during those three days, Tibetans in Tibet can pray from inside Tibet and feel confident that they have received the Kalachakra empowerment. His Holiness also cited an instance from the time of the Buddha when monastic ordination was given from distance.

Assuring hope and relief to his Tibetan followers, His Holiness said that he is perfectly healthy and hopeful that Tibetans will reunite in Tibet very soon in a few years.

He further advised the Tibetans now leaving back to Tibet, to focus on providing education for younger generation while preserving the traditional Tibetan knowledge and culture.

His Holiness thanked the Tibetans inside Tibet for its resolute non-violent pursuit for freedom and dignity of the Tibetan people.
