DHARAMSHALA: A two-member delegation from the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Education (DoE) and the Sambhota Tibetan School Society (STSS) are currently on an official visit to assess the administration of newly transferred Tibetan schools, which were previously under the Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA), in The Tibetan settlements of Miao, Tezu and Tenzingang.

Acting Secretary Karma Singye of the DoE, along with Tsewang Norbu, Project Officer of STSS, visited a variety of schools, kindergartens and primary-day schools in Mio and Tezu on 22 and 24 August, respectively.

The delegation apprised the students and staff of the DoE’s vision and objectives for taking over the schools’ administration and explained how the transfers took place.

In a special briefing, they urged all the heads of schools, teachers, students, parents and community leaders to work together to improve the overall standard of education in these Tibetan schools.

Next, the delegation will visit similar Tibetan schools in Tenzingang.
