Paris, 14 June : Maison du Tibet (or Tibet House) based in Paris successfully concluded the 16th edition of the Festival of Tibet and the Himalayan people on 11 and 12 June.
The Festival attracted more than three thousand visitors, despite inclement weather.
This year’s theme for the festival was Tibetan Medicine to celebrate the centenary of the establishment of Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute (TMAI). Film screenings and panel discussions on the Tibetan healing art were held during the festival.
The Festival aims to promote and create awareness about the rich Tibetan and Himalayan tradition, arts and culture, and is one of the main attractions of Tibetan cultural events in France, drawing thousands of people.
Unlike in the past, this year a Tibet Solidarity Concert was also organised which went on well with the attendance of over one thousand music-lovers, mostly youngsters.
The Festival of Tibet and Himalayan People was held in a Parisian suburb Bois de Vincennes, a natural enclosure of huge green park with a lake and a Buddhist Pagoda that is upkeep by the French Buddhist Union.
The Cultural Festival of Tibetan and Himalayan People is an annual event organised by Maison du Tibet (Tibet House) Paris, the cultural wing of the Bureau du Tibet.
