DHARAMSHALA: On 1 July 2016, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will arrive at Drepung Lachi Monastery, Doeguling Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod, Hubli after concluding his 19-day visit to United States from 10 – 28 June.

From 2 – 5 July, His Holiness will preside over the ordination ceremony of a group of monks from the three Gelug monasteries: Sera, Drepung and Gaden, Ratoe Monastery, Gyuto Monastery, Gyudmey and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery.

The next day, on the occasion of His Holiness’ 81st birthday celebration, the Gelug organising committee, local Tibetans, monks and nuns of Mundgod Doeguling Tibetan settlement will altogether offer long life prayers to His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Drepung Lachi Monastery, followed by more celebrations during the day.

Chief Justice Commissioner Mr Kargyu Dhondup, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and other representatives of the Central Tibetan Administration will attend the 81st birthday celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

On 7 July, His Holiness will inaugurate the newly constructed prayer hall of Drepung Loseling Monastery.
