His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Tibetans bow in respect to greet His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his return from south India, 5 January 2016.

DHARAMSHALA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to his official residence in Dharamshala today after the successful conclusion of a month-long teaching at Tibetan Settlements of Hunsur and Bylakuppe in Karnataka, South India.

Hundreds of Tibetan and non-Tibetan devotees offered warm welcome to His Holiness the Dalai Lama with flowers and traditional Tibetan scarves.

On his arrival at Gaggal Airport, His Holiness was received by Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay, the Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Mr Penpa Tsering and officials and representatives of Central Tibetan Administration.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama conducted a series of teachings and public talks from 9 December 2015 – 2 January 2016 including the 18 Great Stages of the Path (Lam Rim) Commentaries and Dharmakirti’s Commentary on Pramana-samuccaya (tsema namdrel) at Tashi Lhunpo Monastery; Eight Great Tantric Commentaries of Gyudmey Monastery and the Guhyasamaja Initiation at Gyudmey Monastery; Prayer ceremony for inauguration of the new Tashi Lhunpu Assembly hall; talk at Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Associaition in Bengaluru; Mind and Life Conference in Sera Monastery.

Yesterday in New Delhi, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was felicitated by close friends and admirers to celebrate the milestone of His Holiness’ 80th birthday.

His Holiness’ upcoming schedule includes a two and a half day Mind & Life Dialogue in Brussels, Belgium from September 9 -11 organised by Mind & Life Europe.
