DHARAMSHALA: Mr. Karma Yeshi, member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile made an official visit to Tibetan settlements in Pokhra, Nepal from 13 April to 5 May 2015.

The settlement officers and the chairman of the local Tibetan assembly welcomed him on his arrival at Pokhra on 16 April. During his visit, he went to Taklung monastery and the nearby peach and apricot farms of the Tibetan people.

He gave public talk at the community hall. In his talk, he spoke about His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s commitments, the current critical situation in Tibet, the policies of the Central Tibetan Administration to alleviate the sufferings of the Tibetans in and outside Tibet. He also apprised the gathering on the Middle Way Approach, envisioned by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and adopted by CTA with the democratica approval of the Tibetan populace.

From 18 to 19, he visited Lo-tserok and Tashiling settlement. He met with the chairman of the local assembly and Choktrul Rinpoche of Dhargyeling monastery.

On 20 and 21 April, he visited Paljorling and Jampaling settlement. At Paljorling, he met former Tibetan Parliamentarian Thangwang Gyatso and the chairman of the local Tibetan assembly. He also visited the local Tibetan clinics and schools. At Jampaling, he participated in the inauguration and consecration of Jangchup stupa by Taklung Rinpoche.

He visited Tashi Phalkiel settlement on 22 April and met with the local public and officials.
