DHARAMSHALA: A committee to oversee the relief efforts for Tibetans affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal was established after an emergency meeting held on 30 April in the Tibetan coordinator’s office, Kathmandu.

The relief committee will oversee the distribution of funds allocated by the Kashag and other organisations towards assistance in the aftermath of the earthquake. The committee will also provide relief to the families of those who passed away in the earthquake and medical expenses of those who were injured. It will further ascertain the damages caused by the earthquake to homes, offices, schools for renovation and restoration.

The relief committee comprises of Mr. Tamdin Dorjee, co-ordinator for Tibetans in Nepal, Mr. Tashi Dhondup,member of Tibetan Parliament, Mr. Migmar Dorje, Mr. Kalsang Dhondup, Mr. Karma Dawa, Ms. Jangchup Dolma and Mr. Karma Gyaltsen.
