The Tibetan Parliamentary delegation with the President of German Parliamentary Group for Tibet in Berlin.

DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Penpa Tsering visited Germany from 13 – 17 November as part of their ongoing European campaign. The delegation’s visit to Germany was collaborated by the office of Tibet based in Switzerland and the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT).

The delegation met members of the German Parliamentary Group for Tibet and discussed the issues facing Tibet. The delegation also took part in the ‘SnowLion award’ ceremony where influential writers and reporters in Germany were awarded for their contribution towards raising the issue of Tibet through their work.

They also met Chinese citizens from mainland China and explained the current situation prevailing inside Tibet.

The Parliamentary delegation addressed the Tibetan community in Berlin on 16 November.  They talked about the policies of the Central Tibetan Administration especially the mutually beneficial Middle Way Policy to resolve the issue of Tibet.

Tibetan Parliamentarian Atruk Tseten met members of the Tibetan community in Frankfurt. He talked about Tibetan self-immolations and the repressive policies of the Chines government in Tibet, followed by a question and answer session.

The German Parliamentarians, Tibet Support Groups and friends of the Tibet, expressed indignation at the repressive policies of the Chinese government in Tibet. The Tibet supporters assured their continued support for the Middle Way Policy of the Central Tibetan Administration and the non-violent principle adopted by the Tibetan movement.
