DHARAMSHALA: Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel  inaugurated a new Physiotherapy centre at Gadong monastery, in Dharamshala today. The inaugural was also attended by Mr Dawa Phunkyi, member of Tibetan Parliament.

The new centre is established to provide pain-free physiotherapy care to the local people and bring awareness about the importance of physiotherapy in promoting health benefits.

Two-trained physiotherapists Dr. Phenchen Sangpo and Dr. Tenzin Jigme will be the resident therapists at the centre. Concessions are given to the poor and destitute.

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession which helps restore movement and function of bones when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.

Physiotherapy helps maintain health for peoples of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent diseases.
