DHARAMSHALA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamsala today for a four-country European tour of Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Germany from 9 – 19 September. He will give teaching and public talks on how to promote peace and happiness in the world.

His Holiness will give a public talk on ‘The Culture of Compassion’ in Latvia on 9 September.

He will deliver a public talk on ‘The Path to Peace and Happiness in a Global Society’ at Vilnius, Lithuania, on 10 September.

During his visit to the Czech Republic from 14-17 September, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will join 100 global leaders from politics, academia, civil society, media, business and religion to “discuss challenges and threats related to democratic transitions” at the Forum 2000 conference.

He will also give public talk on ‘Compassion and Respect’ in Today’s Society and a teaching on Geshe Langri Thangpa’s ‘Eight Verses of Training the Mind’.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s engagement in Germany include two public talks on ‘Strength Through Compassion’ and Tolerance’ and ‘Strength Through Compassion and Solidarity’ at Hanover and Steinhude on 18 and 19 September respectively.
