In the preceding years, there had been post vacancies in the Central Tibetan Administration CTA’s Staff position. Similarly, in 2012, 43 vacancies in different posts were announced and 240 applications were received. From those applicants, 40 Tibetan graduates and under grades were selected for 5 months intensive training at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah.
The training was successfully completed in December and the 40 trainees along with 28 CTA staff in service and 62 bonafide Tibetans from the general public applied & sat for CTA Staff Entrance Test, conducted by the Public Service Commission-PSC, in late December 2012
The details of the Entrance Test result are; of the 28 CTA staff who appeared for the Test to get higher posts, one each got selected for Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary and Section Officer positions.
Of the 62 bonafide Tibetans from the general public, 8 got selected for different posts and 54 could not get through the Test.
Among the 40 candidates who completed 5 months intensive training at Sarah, 26 were selected for CTA staff. From the 26, 6 candidates stood First in the posts of Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, Section Officer, Office Superintendent, Office Assistant and Senior Clerk. Pass percentage for the 40 candidates from the Sarah training is 67% with one applicant in Wait List and 13 failed. This means the amount of expenses incurred for the training and the utmost efforts put by all concerned have yielded good result which also makes a point to think seriously on the positive side of the 5 months training.
After announcement of the CTA staff Entrance Test Result, some people have expressed doubts in the total points & percentage allotted to some candidates. With the guidance & advice from the Honourable Sikyong, PSC Committee decided to allot Weight-age Points – 5 and 7 to the Sarah trainees with specific criterion to get Weight-age Points. Candidates who failed in the Entrance Test will not get Weight-age Points. Whatever differences have been observed, are due to addition of Weight-age Points to successful candidates from the Sarah training. There are no errors in the Declaration of Entrance Test Result.
The deadline for the second batch of training at Sarah has already been announced, due to unavoidable circumstances we have to extend the application receipt deadline till further deadline is set and notified to all concerned. So interested bonafide Tibetans who fulfill the criterion mentioned in our announcement February 6th 2013, are advised to continue submission of their application.
