DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament secretariat said in an announcement that 10th March from this year on will be commemorated for all those Tibetans who have self-immolated for the cause of Tibet.

The decision to mark the Tibetan National Uprising Day on 10 March – also as a day to remember the Tibetans who have self-immolated for the cause of Tibet – was taken during the second general meeting jointly convened by the Kashag and the Tibetan Parliament last year, the announcement said.

Since 2009, over 107 Tibetans have set themselves on fire in Tibet calling for freedom for Tibet and the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to his homeland.
