NEW DELHI: Around 30 Tibetan M.Phil and PhD scholars from across different universities such as JNU, Mysore University, Madras University, and research staff of Central Tibetan Administration converged in New Delhi to discuss different issues concerning Tibet during a two-day meet organized by Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre from 6-7 December.

The ‘Young Tibetan Scholars’ Meet’ which began with the welcome address by Mr Choekyong Wangchuk, Executive Director of the TPPRC and remarks by Mr Thubten Samphel, Director of the Tibet Policy Institute was chaired and moderated by Dr Yeshi Choedon, Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University. During the two-day meet several paper presentations were made by Tibetan M.Phil and PhD scholars while research staff of Tibet Policy Institute and Environment and Development Desk presented their ongoing research.

It was decided after two days of active deliberation that such meet should be continued in future to enable the young Tibetan scholars to meet and discuss ways to contribute to Tibetan cause collectively through their research.
