French Tibet Supporters Meet Amid Deteriorating Situation Inside Tibet

PARIS: Representatives of 25 different Tibet support groups in France, including the Tibetan Community, met on Saturday to discuss ways and means to further sensitise the issue of Tibet in France and Europe, amid deteriorating situation inside Tibet.

Participants of the meeting while expressing grave concern at the situation inside Tibet, particularly the waves of self-immolations, underlined the need to intensify campaigns at both local and international level.

The meeting also emphasised on the creation of a national coordination committee to strengthen inter-group communication and coordination.

The participants also put forward some concrete action plans to carry out immediately in view of the situation inside Tibet and made at least five recommendations for the upcoming Special International Tibet Support Groups Conference in Dharamsala from 16-18 November.

The meeting was convened at the instance of Bureau du Tibet, Paris. Mr Ngodup Dorjee, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Western Europe presided over the meeting.
