DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today passed a resolution expressing deep sadness at the passing away of former RSS chief Mr Kuppalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan. He breathed his last at the age of 81 in Raipur, Chattisgarh, on 15 September.

“Shri K S Sudarshan has dedicated more than six decades of his life to active social service. He is an important personality who has taken great responsibility in working for the promotion of religious harmony and world peace, and in supporting the Tibetan freedom struggle. He has a great respect for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and was a trusted friend of the Tibetan people,” the Parliament said in its resolution.
The Parliament offered prayers for his noble rebirth and extended condolences to his family members.
Kalon Tripa Dr Lobsang Sangay, in a condolence message on 15 September, said the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people were deeply saddened by the sad demise of Shri K S Sudarshan. Kalon Tripa said Shri Sudarshan will be remembered for his crucial support to the Tibetan freedom struggle.
Shri Sudarshan was born in a Brahmin family in Raipur on 18 June 1931. He first joined the RSS at the tender age of nine. Since then, he has held various ranks within the RSS, notably as Pracharak, Prant Pracharak, Joint General secretary, before being appointed as the RSS chief on 10 March 2000.
