Education Counselors Visit Schools in Mussoorie

DHARAMSHALA: The department of education’s chief counselor Dolkar Wangmo and assistant counselor Sonam Pelmo are on a visit to the Central School for Tibetans and Tibetan Homes Foundation in Mussorie from 13-18 August. They will counsel students of classes XI and XII, and classes VI to X respectively.

They will offer counselling on – goal setting, communication skills, decision making, career planning, character building, peer pressure, study skills, health and hygiene, scholarship opportunities and educational options after class XII etc – through activities based group counselling and counselling of students individually referred by teachers and guardians. They will also counsel teachers and foster parents on positive parenting and discipline skills.

On 20 August, the chief counselor will speak to the general public at Dickyiling Settlement on issues concerning child development and positive parenting skills.
