SRINAGAR: His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Srinagar today for a six-day visit starting 14 July.
Jammu & Kashmir Chief minister Omar Abdullah and tourism minister Ngawang Rigzin Jora welcomed him at the airport.
Members of the Tibetan Muslim community, members of the Ladakhi community in Srinagar as well as Tibetans received His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his arrival at the Nehru state guest house.
The management committee of the Tibetan public school and heads of the Ladakhi community expressed their greetings to His Holiness inside the guest house.
His Holiness will visit the Tibetan public school to address the Tibetan Muslim community of Srinagar on 14 July.
His Holiness first met with the Tibetan Muslim community in 1975 at the old Tibetan Muslim settlement at Id gah, Srinagar. He met the Tibetan Muslim community again in 1988.
