DHARAMSHALA: The Guidance and Counseling Cell of the Department of Education will be offering counsel for students in Tibetan schools located northern India.
Ms Sonam Pelmo, an assistant counselor, has left Dharamsala this morning for 27-day counselling tour to schools in Dalhousie (9 to 14 July), Chauntra (16 to 19 July), Shimla (23 to 28 July) and Dholanji (29 July to 3 August).
She will counsel students (Class VI to XII) at CST Dalhousie, STS Chauntra, CST Shimla and CST Dholanji and talk to their parents.
During the course of the programme, she will take on various issues facing general students such as – goal setting, peer pressure, substance abuse, life skills, moral ethics, scholarship opportunities and educational options after class XII – through activities based group counseling and counselling of students individually referred by teachers and guardians. While parents will receive guidance on positive parental skills.
