LONDON: The exiled spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, the Dalai Lama, has spoken about the sadness he feels towards those who have self-immolated in protest over Chinese rule.

Speaking to BBC’s Andrew Marr, he explained how the Chinese government needed to carry out thorough investigations into why such events occur.

The Dalai Lama also spoke about whether, after 50 years in exile, he would ever return to Tibet.
