Finance Kalon to Visit Switzerland, France, Belgium


Dharamshala 4 July 2005: The Kalon for the Departments of Finance and Information & International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration will start a three-nation tour on Wednesday, 6 July.

Kalon Lobsang Nyandak Zayul will join the celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 70th birthday in Geneva on 9 July and in Paris on 10 July.

The itinerary of the Kalon includes meeting with several members of the European Parliament (EP) from 11-14 July in Brussels, including Joseph Borrell, president of the EP, Elmar Brok, chairman of the EP Foreign Affairs committee, and Thomas Mann, president of EP Tibet intergroup.

From Brussels, Kalon Lobsang Nyandak is expected to travel back to Paris on 14 July to meet with the members of the French Parliament on 15 July, followed by a meeting on 17 July with the members of the Tibet Support Groups at Bureau du Tibet and the Tibetan people at the Rigpa Centre before he returns to India on 18 July.
